In the early 80s we were going to have a lunch in honor of Monty Van Wart. Well, I didn't know it was a surprise party, so when the little flyer appeared in my mailbox I handed it to Monty and asked him a question about it. He handed it back with a note on it!
     Later, I heard Roy Ludtke say, "That damned Tom told Monty about the surprise lunch!"
