Man, there is a whole story behind that issue of Pine knots and I’m really surprised that you found it!
My best friend and I edited Pine Knots for three years but I appeared in every issue every year that I went to Northern Arizona University. And to speak truthfully, They were the best years of my life. How on earth did you come across it?

I just  kept my copy. That's all. I have another one or my brother does. I'll call him and locate it. It was a year or so after this one. He wrote a really funny story in it. I think you may have written a story in it. I'm trying to remember what it was abo

I’ll dig mine up tonight. This is precisely the kind of thing one never imagines happening. And yet I do remember wanting to put together a magazine that was at least good enough that some of the poems for one or two of the stories would be of interest several decades down the road. Very very strange!

I can't find the other Pine Knots. I know why. It's in our house in Flagstaff snowed in. I knew I had been reading it. I'll send it later.

This is an interesting website. I had several classes in both literature and creative writing from Dr. McGehee. It was a great time.

I have one each for the 4 years I was there. They would be terribly expensive to publish them that way today.
