1. Greenfield and Guadalupe Roads    03/28/2009    Steve and I went and there were tons of people and we talked to the Audubon people and then we saw JOHN DOLE. Later, I went to Whole Foods and ran into NANCY AND LARRY.
2. Elliot and Cooper Roads    10/18/2009    Ah, last day of vacation. I woke at four thirty as I went to be early. Yesterday Steve and I went to the beer tasting at Whole Foods. Tried some shots of beer. I swung by E and C today early. That guy that said his child was in the balloon is getting busted and the guy at circle K thought the news media had done him in. Boo hoo.

Greenfield and Guadalupe Roads    8/30/2010    I wentup and set up my chair by the pond up there but this time under the trees on the left there and there wasn't much wind in there though it was a little breezy on the trail, so I got hot in there a little bit. Nice sentence. I studied a little and then decided to leave. I didn't feel like a long session. I drove back via Ray Road and stopped at Whole Foods. I looked at all their expensive beer and expensive, yummy food. I finally bought a Red Seal Ale (Dead Seal Ale, yuck) and a new kind called SHRIMSHAW, a European style pilsner. We'll see later today if it's yummy. Yesterday Steve came by and we fixed the Mojo Man cassette tape and Steve made a movie of the tape recorder when it was playing it, so we could put it on the computer. I listened to the 1983 recording we made with Barkac and Mom and Dad, and oh what an evening that actually was. Great singing and musicianship. Dad played the piano, and then I did. You can hear Mom in the background. What a way to spend your time. We haven't done that it 27 years! What we have missed out on.

8. Elliot and Cooper Roads    3/16/2011    STUDIED A LITTLE AND THEN WENT HOME AND LOOKED FOR TOFURKEY. I went everywhere and only Whole Foods had it. I ate it and it was late so I had to head for the open mic night at Tempe Center for the Arts. I stayed the whole time. I played "Without a Song" and "Smoke that Cigarette."
9. Pima Canyon    3/17/2011    I went and got my emissions test and passed to my surprise. Then I went with a cupon to get a 14.95 oil change and they said I had to have an appointment and I made one for two o'clock and since I was clean down at elliot and the I-10, I popped over to PIMA CANYON. I had left my guitar in the car. I just went down to the arroyo and came back in ten minutes or so. I passed Guitar Center on the way. Later I went and got the oil change and it took an hour, but it was cheap and they washed my car. Their lobby had Fox News on so I waited outside as I don't line up to drink Kool-aid. It's sickening that it's so common to see that filthy slander on and everyone listening to that poison. Makes you want to go and take a shower. Afterwards, I went and got some Grillers Prime for my new diet, and then I went to Whole Foods and had two beers as I attempted to read Billy Budd. Now I'm home watching news about the Nuclear Reactors, Tsunamis, and earthquakes in Japan. Scott and I are going to meet in Sedona and then go to a concert after which I'll go up to Flag for a few days. No Spanish speaking today as Skype seems to be down in Nicaragua.
10. Elliot and Cooper Roads    3/18/2011    I went to get my tax return done and then I came here. There was a guy in a pick-up with his engine running in the parking lot. He was asleep. I wondered if he was being gassed. I rang the firemen's doorbell but no one answered. I went back and looked at the guy. His color was good. He was wearing sun glasses and his chest was going up and down. I figured he was alive. Later I came back and he had driven away. I then went to Whole Foods and had two beers and then went home. Tomorrow I will go to Flag and Sedona and watch that concert that Scott and I are going to see. I'm gassed up and have a fresh oil change. All is ready.
11. Elliot and Cooper Roads    4/1/2011    When I got there, there was a guy with an easel and he was painting with oil paints. The picture was of the trees out there around Pond Eight. I left and put my chair under the tree in front of my truck and studied for a few hours. Then I went to IHOP with Jan Kegelman at 2:30. I had the Philly. I had had a steak the night before and steak in the morning. Not so vegan yesterday and today. There are 540 students at AECP. Glad I'm gone. After I ate at IHOP, I went to the HUNGRY MONK, whose proprietor had given me a cupon at Whole Foods the other day. I saved a buck. I drank one IPA. I could have had another buck off another, but I didn't want to drink two and drive.

Then a guy and a girl came by for lunch. They spoke both Spanish and English. Mostly English. I left and went to the library and then to trader joes's and whole foods for one beer. There were some guys who talked about science fiction as I had my asimov book with me.
14. Elliot and Cooper Roads    4/18/2011    Couldn't reach Nicaragua today. I went over after practicing Merle Travis and Happy Traum picking. Went to the doctor for my physical, so here is the note saying when it was this time. All was good. I taught finger picking to Christian. He isn't so interested. Afterwards, I took my Asimov book over to Whole Foods and drank two beers. I then went over and got their big ole hamburger. Cost a lot, but I had some cash because Erica gave me some.

I think this was the time I went to Whole Foods and afterwards had a "My Antonia" beer. I looked it up and I was right; that was the name of a Willa Cather book in a series of which I've only read one volume, "O Pioneers!"

Then we walked back and I went swimming in Steve's pool. Now I'm here typing.

We went to Bashe's as he had to return a watermelon that wasn't ripe. We went back and I went to E&C Roads. Andaba un poquito crudo y como a las tres fui al "The Vine" on Rural. What cheap beer they have. Amazing. This is a good place and it's quiet too! I came back and drummer boy started playing. Last night he was at it with a bass. Oh, it's bad music. I must survive. I was at the Whole Foods bar and read one of the publications there about one Don Younger, who was a big shot in the popularization of craft beers way back when. There were two obituaries for him telling what a boozy, cigarette smoking guru he was. He fell and died of his injuries a few days later. It's kind of hot but not too bad.
20. Elliot and Cooper Roads    6/19/2011    Gave a guitar lesson today. More 12-bar blues/minor blues too. Worked on Spanish spellingmistakes that I was surprised to see I made. Spell checked the 2500 or so items in Spanish in the flash cards program. Went to Whole foods and drank two beers and then went to Steve's where I baked a Tofurky Pizza. We watched the Shawshank Redemption or whatever it's called. It was quite long but it was fun to watch it for the zillionth time.
21. Elliot and Cooper Roads    7/20/2011    I went to Groping Hands bookstore. Saw a book called Lost Boy about a Morman guy and his experiences. I went to the library and it was in the database but unavailable. I returned Hitch 22. I was sick of reading it. Very hot. Last night I stayed at Steve's. I drank a little too much I think. three beers at Whole foods and a 24-ouncer at Steve's. That's not too much really, but one was an Old Rasputan from Fort Bragg and it was nine percent alcohol. I woke up at five, creaky and unrested but made very good use of the day. Today I couldn't connect to Nicaragua and they owe me a class still. I wrote more stories in spanish, one on dreams, one on the turd in the bird bath, and one on the deep diving jesus. It's so much fun and I have a good start on my spanish book. The E and C book is printed and I've improved it and it's amazing. Very exciting.

I went to Whole Foods afterwards at night and had one beer and about five ounces of beer for five dollars as those five ounces constituted the beer class. Stayed till nine-thirty or so. They had such a large crowd that it took forever to get your tastes of the beer for the class.

Jan Kegelman called and we're having a belated birthday beer at Whole Foods. I brought my cooler and drank V8 and fizzy water. I didn't write anything this time although I had all my gear.

LOTS OF COYOTE SIGHTINGS although he may have been the same one. He was young almost still a puppy. Red tongue. It wasn't too hot. I went over to the Market when I ran out of cokes though. I saw CONTAGION last night. I didn't think it was too good. I went after I met Jan Kegelman at Whole Foods. Steve came. She bought me a six-pack of O'Doul's. We each drank a beer except steve. Charlie and Marie came again. It was the fourth of july so the store closed at EIGHT! Here at E&C Roads I took my walk and a cop car came screaming by lights and siren blaring. He turned and blocked Cooper Road. There was a crash at Guadalupe and Cooper and they were working on some poor soul. I walked all around the place. It wasn't so hard. It wasn't too hot. But it was humid. Yesterday it was 71 degrees at two in the afternoon, a 100-year record for the coldest fourth of july.

I talked to this guy who brought of free masonry and then we were talking about religion and some other guy came up and started talking and James told them not to. I was at Whole Foods last night and that young feller who complimented me so much asked me if he could come up and play for fifteen minutes or so with his telecaster. He had some "noise music" he wanted to play. I said, "Heck no. This is my only gig." I don't want to turn my only gig into open mic night. No. Hell no. God knows what the guy would sound like and James would say who the hell is he and what are you doing?
38. Elliot and Cooper Roads    10/2/2012    It was hot. I was going to take a walk, but it was too hot. I bought Klondike bars at the store. Ate four of them. I couldn't help myself. Last night I had a McDonald's chocolate sundae, but I haven't otherwise had icecream for ages. I read the náufrago book and other Spanish stories. Not very good at practicing guitar for three days. I have only been drinking two or three beers a day. The secret is not drinking any until I go to Whole Foods at around seven-thirty. Then I have two. When I go home, I might drink one more. Now all I need is exercise. Hey, I saw Sid and Cuca over at Fry's. How can it be that we haven't run into each other for so many years? I am loving each day as I study and do things I want to do. This retirement stuff is fantastic.

41. Elliot and Cooper Roads    10/12/2012    Nice weather. Cool. I went over late and then didn't walk two miles to Gilbert and back as planned. Tomorrow. I drank two glasses of white wine at Whole Foods last night. Two carbs. Why not? Then I drank vodka at home. 0 carbs. I was four pounds lighter in the morning but it came up two pounds later in the day, but it's still really a net fall of four on account of I always weigh myself in the morning. I went to E&C Roads today after going to Fry's for Big K Cola. I bought some cauliflower and broccoli and also a bottle of white wine. Needless to say, I'm finishing the whole damned bottle right now. I can't help it. That makes 6.5 grams of carbohydrates. Shit. And I'll drink the cheap, two-dollar wine tonight at Whole Foods. But I'm really low on carbs. Really. Induction low as I learned when I peed on a testing strip and had it change color showing I'm burning fat. Last night Biden kicked Ryan boy's ass around in the debate, but I didn't watch. Can't stand it. It turns my stomach. I bought Kroger brand skinless sardines. Oh, my goodness they are fantastic. That oily taste! Great.
42. Generic Place Anywhere    10/30/2012    WALK TO WHOLE FOODS FROM STEVE'S 25 MINUTES THERE AND 25 BACK. Not very birdy. I DRANK A BLACK LAGER EVEN THOUGH IT WASN'T EVEN THREE O'CLOCK YET. When I got home a helicopter started hovering over my house and I went and found that a motorcyclist had been killed and was lying under a blanket. He's lying there still I think and it's been over an hour. I thought it might have been a motorcycle cop because there were about ten police motorcycles there. But I'm thinking it wasn't. Three cars were involved too. Update: there were four cars involved I guess. The poor foolish 22-year-old motorcylist was weaving through traffic at 80 mph and someone turned in where I always turn in to Walgreens and he hit her SUV and bouced off her window and flew down the road. She went to the hospital but was all right.
43. Western Canal    11/7/2012    OBAMA WAS RE-ELECTED LAST NIGHT IN A LANDSLIDE! YAY! At whole foods last night there was a lunatic who hated Obama, so he kind of spoiled the fun. I worked on the yard yesterday so I didn't walk. Jan came by today. Then I walked from Dobson to Alma School.

Last night I was pissed at one of the guys at Whole Foods for saying, "He's still alive?" when Obama was speaking on the TV about the murder of 20 children in Connecticutt.

Went to Whole Foods and a loud drunk was there and he knew it all and swore there was no French in English and wouldn't listen about 1066 and hated Affirmative Action but knew all the tales about it and nothing else and thought the word car was invented by Henry Ford and that carro was a Spanish bastardization of car and I later looked it up and car is a French word entered into Middle English in 1150 and the Spanish carro comes from the French via Gallic. Christ.

I wrote this in Foolbook after Brandon posted a fodoe of me playing: "The small but mighty Grand Symphony Mini Taylor guitar. Bobby came and Gailynn came and JAN BRADBURY CAME on his bike, and Gayle from work and her husband Bob came and about eight people from my Spanish Speakers Club and about five from my atheist club. I made 12 bucks in tips and got free beer and snacks! ¡Era un triunfo de primera!" I've already got nine likes. NICE WEATHER TODAY. TEN MONTHS have passed since I saw a cinnamon teal here. Well I saw one today here.

Played last night at Whole Foods. Jan and Andrea came by to hear the last four songs or so. Charlie and Marie came and they brought me the beer glass I had left at their house. My arm hurt but I was able to play.
57. 2125 North Villas Lane    6/29/2013    Drove my bike to Whole Foods at 6:30 and when I got there I was half dead it was so hot! I must be more careful. It was 118° in Phoenix today.
58. Elliot and Cooper Roads    7/3/2013    Coyotes sleeping on the west side of the island in Pond Nine. I threw a hot dog to them. They saw me. I guess they have eaten it by now. (The hot dog was a Diamondback hot dog from Circle K which I bought on account of they were out of the jalapeño cheese dogs and it was awful.) HOT AS HECK and I didn't stay too long. TOO HOT TO HOOT. I played at Whole Foods and Sue Hendershot came and two atheists who left and then a new atheist later. Holly RSVPed but didn't show. It was a lot of fun but later my arm hurt so much I could not sleep.
59. Elliot and Cooper Roads    7/18/2013    Played at Whole Foods last night. Steve came. Skully even showed up. So did Kenton. That was it. Made six bucks, but when I was through I was aching terribly. Felt like I was eighty-nine years old. That terrible pain wasn't back, but I had a Celebrex when I went home and one today in the morning. HOT and Humid. Coyotes cried at the sirens. They were in Pond Ten this time it seemed.
60. Generic Place Anywhere    9/6/2013    Rode my bike to Whole Foods. It had rained and there was a puddle on Warner Road with a dead black-headed grosbeak in it. It's surprising how much they look like spotted towhees. He however had a bright yellow belly. Oh so a BHGB.

63. Sun Lakes    2/20/2016    I went to Craft 64 in Scottsdale and it was a hell of a drive and I only got to talk to James and Susanna a minute and Roger was there too. Cis RSVPed but didn't show. I ended up talking to that gal Gail from Whole Foods who was getting ready to go to jail for FOUR MONTHS for her FOUR DUIs.
64. Sun Lakes    10/11/2017    Walked. Yesterday I had my teeth cleaned and I went to Whole Foods and drank two beers. I brought home some vegan junk and I even ate a bison burger and I'm going to gain weight but today I walked for forty minutes and also yesterday I brought home Old Rasputin or whatever you call it and also San Tan Moon Juice Galactic IPA.
65. Elliot and Cooper Roads    10/9/2018    I went to Steve's and played with Skippy and Frankie. Steve and I went to see the lawyer in Gilbert. It was a good session and free. Then we went here. We then went to Big Lots and the Dollar store. Then I went to have my crown put in at the dentist's office. Then I went to Whole Foods and drank two Clausthauler Non-alcoholic beers. I bought vegan "egg" salad and "chicken" tofu stuff. Two kinds.
