This above snake was the closest
call I've had. I was going to step on him
but he rattled.
That's the only thing that saved me.
It was somewhere in the Superstitions. We
were on our way back and four miles perhaps from the
parking lot.

I was walking on the trail
and the guy in front of me started
to do a dance and left the
trail. I kept walking, and
very nearly stepped on this
deadly DIAMONDBACK RATTLER.
He didn't yell, "SNAKE!"

well-defined as those of the Tiger.

explains the genetics behind the predator's fearsome bite.
