FROM MY JOURNAL: William Jefferson Clinton, the
President of the United
States came to ASU. He spoke. I
stood next to some loud
students with Gailynn. After his speech,
he went and drove by
Irish Hall. The whole motorcade went right
by my building -- like
twenty feet from where I've been working for so
many years. I
walked out, got three feet from the limo and
waved at clinton, who
waved back. I snapped his picture, too,
but I don't know if it
came out.
November 2, 2006 Thursday
I shook WILLIAM JEFFERSON CLINTON'S hand today.
I said, "Mr. President, oh, how we've missed
you."
I waited over at the library for him. Grady
Gammage came out and
talked. I couldn't see him. Then Harry Mitchell
and others and then
Clinton. Clinton said, "Listen." it was silent.
"He said, "Do you hear
that silence? It's like that all over the
country." It was interesting.
all you could hear was the putt putt of the
helicopter above. No
hecklers except for one obnoxious JD Hayworth
sign that got pulled down
once or twice because it was so big no one could
see." bill clinton
