Estero Morua on Thursday, December 31, 1998

Estero Morua 12/31/1998 December 31, 1998 Mexico, estero morua, beach house. Tom and (I'm sure Noodles--TC) Noodles. The pelicans flew like turkey vultures in a great cone. The first night I was a little cold on the couch there. I wore my jacket and had one blanket. A dog came over and when I yelled at it, if fell on its back. Its name was Snicker. Saw long-billed curlews and a brown booby and other birds. Moon very very bright indeed. No one around to speak of. New Year's eve was quiet. I fixed the broken window by jamming boards in there -- actually the ceiling panels fit in there. Someone stole my barbecue grill. Mexicans like to deficate (shit!) behind our house.I bought a Corona bottle opener because I brought Samuel Adams Boston lager and needed to open one or two or three on the sandy road to the beach as I traditionally do (with any kind of beer). It is a cool bottle opener that says "Cerveza Corona" on it. It's just all metal and silver but I love it and want to marry it! I went down to fix the broken window. I pounded a ceiling panel into the broken window from within and without. There was just a glint of sky through part of the roof. I know it will leak a little but I just didn't have time to plug the very last of the chinks in the roof. I tried but I kept missing. The road to the house is kind of icky. All torn up and the dunes to the right as you approach are torn up. Stupid jerks. Noodles must have been with me.--TC
