MAY 23, 1989 JOURNAL ENTRY:
I made a paperweight with a wooden boom on it.  Attached to the end of the boom is a clothespin from which I may hang papers for easy typing.  The weighted part is a piece of nice red sandstone-- hard stuff perhaps partially metamorphosed into quartzite, but I'm not sure.  I glued a round piece  of green cloth to the bottom of the rock to keep it from scratching the shelf on my desk where the contraption rests.  Its only drawback is the fact that the long boom is such an effective fulcrum that only two or three sheets of paper may be held in the clothespin without the whole device tottering toward the tabletop.  I sure want that rock to fall on my computer keyboard.

Noodles on a Chair with River Rock Paper Holder and Old Mac.jpg
OMG. I just looked at this picture of the River Rock Paper Holder
and my OLD MACINTOSH and dot matrix printer and dog Noodles.
I've had it a while and it has served me faithfully!
WELL, I JUST FOUND OUT JUNE 28, 2021 THAT IT WAS MAY 23, 1989 when I MADE the paper holder. (See above.)
I got Noodles a little later on August 12, 1989.

IT JUST BROKE YESTERDAY AND I FIXED IT.
