JOURNAL ENTRY:
I made a paperweight with a wooden boom on it. Attached to the end of the boom is a clothespin from which I may hang papers for easy typing. The weighted part is a piece of nice red sandstone-- hard stuff perhaps partially metamorphosed into quartzite, but I'm not sure. I glued a round piece of green cloth to the bottom of the rock to keep it from scratching the shelf on my desk where the contraption rests. Its only drawback is the fact that the long boom is such an effective fulcrum that only two or three sheets of paper may be held in the clothespin without the whole device tottering toward the tabletop. I sure want that rock to fall on my computer keyboard. |
