Titubeé un poquito antes de incluir este retrato ya que es triste, un poquito morboso y en el contexto escalofriante como este capítulo mismo. También la foto tiene un aspecto muy personal, pero al mismo tiempo es una foto muy buena y todo el mundo la puede ver en la red de todos modos.

I hesitated to add this photo as it's sad, a little morbid, and in its context kind of creepy as is in a way this whole chapter. The photo also has a very personal look to it, but then again it's such a good photo! And anyone can see it on the internet anyway.

En 2011, escribí un ensayo y en él cuento sobre algunas experiencias que tuve cuando tenía aproximadamente once años. Siempre solía pasar por la librería de Gorden Carpenter en Tempe.

El ensayo se convirtió en el Capítulo 27 de un libro que escribí solo por diversión en español y luego lo traduje al inglés con el título Las misteriosas noches de antaño/The Mysterious Nights of Yesteryear. Es solo un pasatiempo para mí.
De todos modos, ayer vi a Gorden Carpenter en Family Search y pensé en el pequeño capítulo que llamé "El verano de la novela" porque compré de Gorden Carpenter una novela que me gustó.

Parece ser pariente de él, ya que tiene su apellido y ha publicado su foto en el sitio, por lo que pensé que a usted (o a otros miembros de la familia) le gustaría leer el ensayo tal como aparece en el libro. (Cada dos páginas están en inglés. La primera imagen no está relacionada; es parte del capítulo anterior). Adjunto el capítulo recortado aquí como un archivo pdf. Por favor avise si no puede abrirlo y leerlo.

You seem to be related to him as you have his last name and you have posted his picture on the site and so I thought you (or others in the family) might like to read the essay as it appears in the book. (Every other page is in English. The unrelated first picture is part of a previous chapter.)

I'm attaching the cut-out chapter here as a pdf file. Please advise if you are unable to open and read it.

Hi Tom,

Yes Gordon Carpenter is my uncle. My dad was his brother. I keep in touch with his children so I will forward this to them. They will love it to know more about their dad at the bookstore since they were all very young when he passed away.

Hello Mr Cole,

I am one of Gorden's children. I wanted to thank you for reaching out to our family and sending this book chapter about my father. I was very young when he died so I cherish others memories of him. The anniversary of his death is in just 2 days.
