The Article Book in all its manifestations Prentice Hall/Univ of Mich, Japan still makes me some money after 24 years.
It used to be #10 on Michigan's list of some 300 books.
The Preposition Book has caught up and makes about the same now.
It makes next to nothin'!

Dear Tom,

The Japanese version of The Article Book arrived last week and we were able to retrieve the paperwork related to it from our files with the details of the book in hand. It *was* an authorized edition that Kelly signed the attached agreement with Beret Publishing for. We did receive an advance of $2,500 from them back in 2007, $1,250 was shared with you according to the Business Office's records. However, the advance was never earned out and we received no further royalties - Beret appears to now be out of business and the copies available online are used ones. I attach the agreement we have with them for reference.

I hope that this gives you some peace of mind. The book was not pirated, thank goodness!

I WROTE THIS AND FOUND I HAD ALREADY WRITTEN A CHAPTER IN THE RED HOT ROOSTER WITH THE SAME TITLE AND MOSTLY ABOUT THE SAME THING AND I AM GETTING OLD BECAUSE I DID THAT MORE THAN ONCE BEFORE IN THE SAME BOOK SO HERE IT IS FOR POSTERITY:

Killing Animals for Fun

I remember being called a "softie" by a woman when she asked me if I hunted and I said no. It's possible she said that because she was the one who was a softie—with regard to the hobby of killing animals for fun and that she was aware of that and not very comfortable with it and had to justify it since she had always tolerated friends who hunted. I suspect she hadn't called them softies about killing animals for the fun of it. I should have asked her if she hunted herself and if she was a softie like me.

All the Spaniards I've spoken to say they think bullfighting is horrible. They well know that (like hunting) bullfighting consists of killing animals for fun and even torturing animals for fun. Hunter apologists will say they do it for the meat, but they can buy much cheaper meat at the grocery store, and it's clearly a sport and done for sport. I see in my dictionary the following:

For sport
For entertainment, for fun

From time to time we change our minds and often surprisingly late. We used to believe, for instance,  that drug users had the right to inflict their addiction on others. In other words, it was said that smokers had rights and that is why they were allowed to smoke on planes. We change our minds from time to time and upon reflection we are struck by the idiocy that we previously accepted so easily and naively.
